We can’t show it to you because the Internet fails us (to the best of my knowledge it never actually HAD a cover).

Somewhere deep beneath the earth, in a not-too-sterile recovery room, a patient of indeterminate gender is recovering from surgery. The patient’s jaw was broken in at least four places and is now wired shut. The patient is in the throes of a nightmare, and is tossing and turning. The sheets are soaking through with sweat. We have no idea what the nightmare is about. The wiring shut of the patient’s jaw leads to us not being able to hear anything but muffled whimpers.

After a few minutes, we realize that something is happening. The nightmare escalates, for the patient’s vocalizations are becoming louder. In the room, which is cavernous, these vocalizations gather, reflect, and build upon one another. But take a look at the patient’s mouth. It’s moving more than it was before. Whatever the patient needs to say in the nightmare, it’s extremely important.

As the nightmare climaxes, the patient rips through the wiring holding his/her jaw shut, and at the same time awakens from the nightmare and realizes s/he is in devastating, unbearable pain, and that the room is echoing with whatever message it was, for the patient has forgotten the dream upon awakening. The reverberations of thirty minutes of moans and shrieks keep the message just this side of intelligible.

Even better than Unjoy. ****
