Cute, if a little disturbing (in the sense of the subtext of the entire book being “the world revolves around you!”), celebration of baby-dom. Strong rhythm and rhyme are a big plus compared to a number of recent pre-lit books I’ve been reading, and the illustrations are well-rendered and nicely detailed. (I’m still convinced the polar bears on the cover are high-fiving, no matter what the text tells me.) It’s nice, but it doesn’t really jump off the page, and the kid hasn’t expressed a preference one way or the other where it’s concerned. ***
